Fashion on Wheels — Why the Fashion Industry Should not Ignore Disabled People
Over 3 million Americans use a wheelchair full time. Many more use one part of the time. Wheelchair users have many problems…poorly-located curb cuts, difficulty accessing public transportation, difficulty finding an accessible cab, etc. One might think that clothes aren’t really a problem. We wear clothes, we sit down, right?
Wrong. Wheelchair users have all kinds of clothing problems, both functional and aesthetic.
