Does A Standard Measurement Exist For Clothing?

Finding fashionable clothing to suit your needs as a disabled individual can be challenging as the options are often limited at regular stores. This means that you have to settle for clothing that either doesn’t hang right or is difficult to wear. Fortunately, EasyWear Adaptive ClothingTM understands these challenges and is here to help you obtain clothing that’s both stylish and easy to wear.

In the past, there used to be a standard measurement for clothing. For women, it ranged from eight to ten under a size small, and for men, it was around thirty-six to thirty-eight under a size small. Now manufacturers are not strictly following this sizing but are producing sizes depending on their style of clothing.

Adaptive clothing used to also follow the clothing industries’ standard sizes. We have one size to fit women between eight to ten under a size small, and for men, it was thirty-six to thirty-eight under a size small. However, as clothing manufacturers have changed to a more “fitted” size to match the modern style and type of fabric, we have begun to do the same.

EasyWear Adaptive Clothing’sTM manufacturer in Canada has followed this fitted trend in the past two years, and the response to the change has been very positive. This is because our clothes are not only tailored differently, but they have a more fitted and attractive look.

Our clothing is tailored to offer more fabric around the waist area for our tops for men and women but comes down stylishly to provide a more fitted look. Our EasyWearTM Adaptive pants have also evolved. They are now longer from the waist to the crotch so that when sitting down, the pant legs do not ride up or crunch tight. There’s even more fabric around the waist and hip area to allow for extra cushioning and the pant legs to come down very fashionably. With this option, there is no need to buy an extra-large size to accommodate a different body type. It is, therefore, an excellent option for both men and women.

That said, if you prefer a loose fit, we also offer variations of our fitted clothing styles. We currently have three categories Fitted, Relax Fit, and Loose Fit. If we take the standard women’s small size (eight to ten), the shoulders, chest, and upper sleeves will measure:

a. 14x40x18 inches for Fitted

b. 15x42x20 inches for Relax Fit

c. 16x42x21 inches for Loose Fit

The Standard Fit is about 14-15x40-42x20-21 inches (which is the same as Relax Fit)

To help you purchase clothing accurately from our online store, we have posted all of the measurements for our EasyWear Adaptive ClothingTM on our website. Before browsing through the options, measure your body by asking a relative or care provider to help you. You will need to measure your chest, shoulders, and upper sleeves for tops or blouses. For your pants, you will need the measurements of your waist, hips, crotch area, and thighs. Once you have these measurements, you can start browsing through our clothing options and choose the ones you like best. It’s that simple.
